General Computer Labs
Overview
IS&T maintains several general computer labs, equipped with over 200 large, 22-inch screen computer monitors across campus for free computer access to students. Some of these labs are designated: "Quiet Study Labs" and some are designated: "Campus Connection Lounges". Students using the Quiet Study labs are asked to be quiet to enable other students to concentrate on scholastic use of the computers. The Campus Connection Lounge labs provide more casual use and, while common courtesy is expected to be shown towards fellow students, moderate conversations are permitted. All IS&T General Computer Labs provide PC and Mac computers, some have quick scan stations, some have quick-print stations, and limited free black & white or color printing. Urban39 lab has a wide-capacity plotter for special printing needs. Click here for a list of all General Computer Labs and specific details concerning them.
Every lab is staffed by a student Lab Monitor who is available to provide general assistance with logging on to the computers and general usage questions. Click here for a list of Lab Monitor responsibilities.
Limited free printing is provided to every student (2,000 black & white pages or 160 color pages per semester). Click here for more information on print purchases and refunds.
Students can also borrow laptop computers, tablets, MacBook Airs or scientific calculators for free at the in the Student Center room SC128-A.
