He earned his Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Big Data Track, from the Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Medicine in the summer of 2023. Dr. Khan started his career as a researcher in his home country, Bangladesh, upon completion of his Master's in Statistics and later worked full-time for more than eight years in three universities for different tenures.

Dr. Khan's research interests revolve around developing statistical methods and applications with a particular focus on health-related outcomes. Specific areas include biostatistics and public health, repeated measures and longitudinal analysis, linear and nonlinear mixed-effects modeling, Bayesian analysis, categorical data analysis, clinical trials, substance use and health. He is also keenly interested in applying data science and machine learning tools to major or chronic health outcomes and their relationships to potential risk factors.

Dr. Khan recently demonstrating how the circadian blood pressure rhythm is disrupted among children with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) compared to healthy controls. He intends to extend this analysis approach to investigate dysregulation in other circadian rhythms (e.g., echo and clinical parameters) across a range of population cohorts with other underlying health conditions such as asthma, comorbidities such as diabetes and depression and other risk factors.
