U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown to Speak at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law February 29

Published on

United States Senator Sherrod Brown has been a vocal proponent of labor protections for U.S. workers while representing Ohioans in Congress for over two decades.  He has also been a strong opponent of free trade on the grounds that the U.S. economy has been harmed by trade relations with countries lacking strong labor regulations.

Senator Brown will explain his stance on labor rights during a free lecture at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (1801 Euclid Ave.) Monday, February 29 at 12 p.m. in the school’s Moot Court Room. The topic of his Employment and Labor Law Lecture is "Assault on Workers’ Rights: Labor Law and the Erosion of Worker Protections."

Brown is the senior United States Senator from Ohio and was previously a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Ohio’s 13th congressional district. He has led bipartisan opposition to the North American Free Trade Agreement and to the Central America Free Trade Agreement and argues that labor activism has been a major reason for the growth of the U.S. middle class.

He previously served as Ohio Secretary of State and as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives.
