The Office of Research at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ Awarded $400,000 from Parker Hannifin to Develop Research Fellowship Program

Cleveland — The Parker Hannifin Corporation has made an award of $400,000 to be distributed over four years towards a Graduate Research Fellowship Program in the Fenn College of Engineering at ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ. The program will help ensure the recruitment, vitality, excellence and diversity of the graduate student pool.

The program will recognize and support outstanding graduate students who are pursuing research-based doctoral degrees in the areas of human motion and control and other related areas. Highly qualified graduate students, who have demonstrated potential for significant achievements in science and engineering research, will be provided with competitive stipend support. Each fellowship will be complemented by a full tuition grant paid by the University.

The graduate fellowship will provide approximately $25,000 per doctoral student for a 12 month period. The program is designed to attract highly qualified graduate students and match them with preeminent faculty in the Fenn College of Engineering and outstanding engineers from Parker Hannifin.

Parker Hannifin Corporation, a global leader in motion and control technologies, engineering innovative products and systems, and ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ, a public urban research institution, have established a partnership in research and development in Human Motion and Control. This industry-driven and university-executed program will reach national and global significance through the collaboration of graduate students and faculty of the Fenn College of Engineering and the engineers at Parker Hannifin. It will foster collaborations and create an enhanced process to move discovery from concept and design to final product and commercialization. The program will also significantly enrich development of the next generation of engineers.
