CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Horizon League announced its 2020 Fall Academic Honor Roll Friday afternoon, with 124 ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ student-athletes earning a spot on the list.

The 124 selections for Cleveland State are its highest such figure in the past 15 semesters.

Women's soccer led all league teams at Cleveland State with 20 total honorees, while track & field/cross country had 14 honorees and volleyball followed closely behind with 13 honorees. It is the third straight semester that women's soccer has led the way (or tied for the lead) in total honorees among all of ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ's HL teams.

The men's basketball team's nine selections to the HL Honor Roll were far and away the highest figure in the league as no other league program produced more than five men's basketball honorees. The ÀÏ°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±¼Ç¼×ÊÁÏ volleyball team's 13 selection to the HL Honor Roll tied with Green Bay for the highest such figure in the conference.

Thirty Vikings recognized on the Horizon League honor roll were also Fall semester after posting a 3.90 GPA or better on at least 15 graded credits, while five additional Vikings were also named to the President's List from those that met the Honor Roll criteria from Cleveland State's non-league sports.

Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify: 1) participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season; 2) completion of three semesters as a full-time student at the same member institution; 3) a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale).

In addition, a total of 62 student-athletes from Cleveland State's non-Horizon League sports met this criteria—33 lacrosse players, 13 wrestlers, nine men's fencers and seven women's fencers.
