Event will assist teachers from across Ohio in improving STEM instruction

The two-day conference for teachers from across Ohio will present best practices in STEM education, highlight new innovations in instruction and allow practitioners to share ideas and learn from national experts in the field.
鈥淭his is the first time our conference has had the opportunity to join forces with the Ohio STEM Learning Network, and we are excited to be able to offer an expanded program to more teachers from across the state,鈥 says Dr. Debbie Jackson, associate professor and outgoing director of the STEMM Education Center at 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料.
鈥淭he goal of the conference is to unite K12 educators 鈥 to learn from one another, network, and collaborate around the method of Project Based Learning. Our aim is to organize hands-on, interactive, STEM-related activities and ideas for teachers to take back to their K-4, 5-8 and 9-12 classrooms,鈥 adds Dr. Kate O鈥橦ara, assistant professor at 老澳门六合彩开奖记录资料 and incomingdirector of the STEMM Education Center.
STEM Education seeks to combine education in four specific disciplines, science, technology, engineering and mathematics, into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications. This has proven integral to better preparing students for the technology-focused careers that now dominate society, while providing the hands-on learning that can keep students engaged and interested in learning more.

was created in 2008 to expand STEM educational opportunities for students across the state of Ohio. The Network has assisted in opening over 20 STEM schools and operates seven regional training hubs that support STEM education and development at the primary and secondary level.
